Abstract

PURPOSE:To terminate a bus automatically for change of the number of terminal equipment, by providing a bus terminator in the terminal equipment and by giving a discriminating function, which discriminates whether to terminate the bus is necessary or not, to this terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:A central processing device 1 such as a computer and respective terminal equipment 2a-2c are connected by bus transmission cables 3a-3c. A terminal resistance 6 in a terminator 4 provided in each equipment is made inactive when an output cable is connected by the function of a relay 18. Meanwhile, if a succeeding terminal equipment does not exist as shown in figure C and the output cable is not connected, the relay 18 is not excited, and relay contacts 2-4 are closed, and the bus terminal resistance 6 is connected to the bus line.
