Abstract

The nose (10) is moulded in one piece from plastics and protects rockets in their launching tubes (2), when airborne. The cap has an aerodynamic profile and fits over the front of the launcher (1), being secured by inserts (23). The unit has holes (24) which correspond to the missile tubes. These holes are open (22) at the rear, to fit the tubes, and blind at the front; in the latter case, a thin membrane (30) is moulded integral with the cap. The front walls (12) of each hole are thinned and break lines (35) provided, to shatter the membranes on firing.
