Abstract

By axial displacement of a drive sleeve (2), a coupling part (17) can be brought into engagement with the coupling claws of a cocking dog (22) via the rear end face (15) of the drive sleeve (2). An axially displaceable brake body (7) is arranged in the area of action of a striker (24). The brake body (7) can be acted upon on the one hand under the action of force of a compression spring (8) accelerating the striker (24) and on the other hand by a collar (5) of the striker (24) if the latter, upon lack of contact with the drilling spindle (11), moves beyond its front position transmitting percussion energy. Reactions from the drilling spindle (11) to the person working with the hammer drill are reduced by such an arrangement.
