Abstract

Masonry lining for protecting containers, appts., pipes, chimneys, etc. comprises mouldings made of an elastic raw material, pref. rubber. In use the mouldings are assembled against the wall of the container or the like by means of a binder and the joints between the mouldings are filled with a gap filler which can be applied by casting or with a trowel and is pref. a self-vulcanising rubber compsn. The lining can adapt itself to the shape of the article being lined and can take up deformations undergone by the article. The lining gives protection against corrosion. The low density of the moulding ensures that the latter will float if it becomes detached from the lining inside a liq-contg. vessel.
