Abstract
A mixture of outside air (2) and recirculated air (3) is drawn over the condenser (4) of the heat pump. It flows through a jacket (9) surrounding a combustion chamber (11). From this it is discharged (14) into the space being heated. The combustion chamber burns propane or butane or a liq. fuel. It comes into operation only if the temp. achieved by the heat pump is not sufficient. The flue gases from the combustion chamber are taken (13a) over the evaporator (5) of the heat pump and prevent icing on it. The heat source for the evaporator is a mixture of outdoor (16) and room air (17). .
