Abstract

The rail (10) has an upper rolling surface (12) and a base (14) supported on concrete (20) by a metal support plate (16) and a layer of rubber (18). The plate (16) has threaded holding down bolts (34) spaced at regular intervals. The wedge (24) has a curved web (26) that bears down on the base of the rail, and two looped ends (28, 30), that give the spring a heart shape in plan. A spacing block (32) of thickness equal to the sum of the rubber and the base (14) is placed over the bolt, then the spring, then capping plate (40) and all three are held down tight by the threaded nut (38).
