Abstract

The flexible diaphragm of diaphragm valves is made from rubber and is attached to the actuating rod by a threaded stud for using the diaphragm in any valve. The end of the end of the actuating rod (20) is provided with a tapped hole (21) to match the screw thread of the diaphragm. The threaded hole also has two diametrically opposite slots (23) and a counter-bore (22) to receive the transverse pin of an alternative bayonet type fixing if a plastics diaphragm is used.
