Abstract

Collars for locating jack plugs or sockets within an insulated connector body are moulded in the form of a tubular collar slotted longitudinally to allow the collar to be dilated by insertion of a conventional terminal extractor tool. Claims such collars moulded from polyamideimide, polyethylsulphone or polyaryl sulphone resins, to obtain suitably elastic components with, in places, thin (0.2 mm.) body sections for use in multi-pin connectors. The mouldings may be made using high temps. (>=300 degrees C) for fluidity at low moulding pressures followed by annealing for several days.
