Abstract

Dispositif de caractères sur les claviers de machines à écrire, téléimprimeurs, etc., comportant un clavier de quatre rangées. Les voyelles sont réservées à la main gauche et affectées à la troisième rangée à partir du haut et dans l'ordre U, I, E, A, O, les consonnes très fréquentes étant réservées à la partie droite de cette troisième rangée, les autres lettres fréquentes sur la deuxième rangée à partir du haut et les moins frequentes sur la rangée du bas et sur celle du haut. A titre d'exemples préférés, on indique les claviers optimisés pour la frappe en français et dans une langue << imaginaire >> qui comprendrait 2/3 d'anglais et 1/9 de chacune de trois autres langues : le français, l'allemand et l'espagnol. Le point et la virgule sont affectés à deux touches-languettes destinées à être frappées par le pouce gauche. Les chiffres 6 et 1 sont affectés à deux touches-languettes destinées à être frappées par les pouces gauche et droit.
