Abstract

Le procédé selon l'invention comprend le laminage à chaud d'un acier contenant entre 0,03 et 0,13 % de carbone, entre 0,8 et 1,7 % de manganèse, pas plus de 0,1 % d'aluminium, pas plus de 2,0 % de silicium et pas plus de 0,5 % de chrome, la température de finition étant comprise entre 750 degrés C et 890 degrés C, le refroidissement rapide de la bande jusqu'à une température ne dépassant pas 230 degrés C, et le bobinage de la bande à une température ne dépassant pas 230 degrés C, la variation de température entre le commencement et la fin du bobinage ne dépassant pas 100 degrés C. La teneur en silicium est limitée à 1 % ou moins dans les applications où l'aptitude à la peinture est importante et est limitée à 1 à 2 % dans les applications où la ductilité est importante. Le procédé permet d'améliorer les propriétés de vieillissement artificiel, amélioration qui est uniforme sur toute la longueur de la bande bobinée.
