Abstract

Novel cpds. have formula (I) (where n = 1-6 R is a hydrocarbon gp. with 1-6 free valencies and may be aromatic, alkylaryl, cycloalipatic or aliphatic, the aliphatic gp being opt. branched and opt. contg. ethylenic double bonds). The cpds. are oily, adurless and weakly coloured prods. some being also white solids. They are specifically claimed for the thermal stabilisation of vinyl chloride polymers in synergistic combinations with pref. 0.1-5 wt. % (w.r.t. polymer) of a mixt. of carboxylic acid salts of a Gp. II A and a Gp. II B metals. Amt. of (I) used in pref. 0.05-5 wt. %.
