Abstract

Novel copolymers comprise:- (a) definically unsatd. carboxylic acid(s), (b) vinyl ester(s) of trialkylacetic acids with highly branched structure and of formula (I), and (c) polyunsatd. monomer(s). R1-3 = linear alkyl, one being always Me, the total no. of C atoms in the alkyl gps. being a max. of 10. Pref. (a) is acrylic acid; in (b) the total no. of C atoms in the alkyl gps. is 10; (c) is a polyallyl ether pref. pentaerythritol polyally ether. Amts. used are 1-30 wt.% of (b) and 0.1-5 wt.% of (c), w.r.t. total monomers.
