Abstract

The lifting arm has a fixed vertical post (2) supported and fixed to the ground. A hydraulic cylinder (7) is fixed at the top of the post and carries an arm (1) so that it can move about the top of the post. The arm (1) has a fixed elbow at a point near the centre along its length. The crane hook (4) is able to travel along the arm up to the elbow where the hook may be clipped into position. The load (3) may be positioned anywhere along the outer arm of the beam.
