Abstract

Le volant de direction 10 comporte deux rayons 18, 18' dont les parties terminales sont rivées sur une couronne fendue 14 et repliées sur cette couronne, la partie terminale de l'un des rayons étant fixée sur la partie fendue de la couronne. La partie terminale de chacun des rayons comporte un rebord terminal 26 et un rebord intermédiaire 24 perpendiculaires l'un à l'autre. Lors de la fabrication du volant 10, on place la couronne 14 à la jonction entre ces rebords 24 et 26 de manière que la fente 28 se trouve dans la partie médiane des rebords de l'un des rayons. Des trous sont percés dans les rebords terminaux et des portions de la couronne sont repoussées dans ces trous pour former des rivets qui rendent totalement solidaires la couronne et le rayon. Les flancs terminaux 26, 26' sont ensuite repliés autour de la couronne 14 de façon à recouvrir les évidements résultant de la formation des rivets.
