Abstract

The dust suprresion unit has an open ended drum rotatable about an axis which is downwardly inclined from the horizontal. Coal or other material entered into it at its uppermost end will be tumbled and caused to progress towards its lowermost end. A series of paddle members or a helical tumbler configuration are provided at the inner surface of the drum for tumbling the material as the drum rotates. A spray of water is directed into the drum so that dust and 'fines' shaken loose as the material is tumbled with the drum is damped down.
