Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour préparer un copolymère d'éthylène. On copolymérise 1 de l'éthylène, 2 du propylène et/ou du butène-1 et 3 une alpha -oléfine comportant 6 à 12 atomes de carbone tout en maintenant la quantité totale des composants 2 et 3 entre 1 et 40 moles % par rapport au composant 1 et le rapport molaire du composant 2 au composant 3 entre 0,01/0,99 et 0,90/0,10, dans une phase vapeur pratiquement dépourvue de solvant et en présence d'un catalyseur constitué d'une substance solide et d'un composé organo-aluminique, cette substance solide contenant du magnésium et du titane et/ou du vanadium. L'invention s'applique en particulier à la préparation d'un copolymère d'éthylène ayant un indice de fluidité de 0,1 à 10 et une densité de 0,900 à 0,945.
