Abstract
A circular flat plate is cut along one radius and opened into a spiral form and attached to a horizontal axis. Several such blades can be attached to a common shaft, by adjustable fixing devices. Each blade can have external fins fixed at an acute angle opposite to the rotational sense of the blade. The shaft is mounted on anti-friction bearings. The shaft is connected to its load either via gears or by belt-driven pulleys.
