Abstract

The bumpers (1) are for fitting to caravans or trailers. They have fixings (8, 9) to suit any chassis, and are mounted independently to the rear of the chassis side frame (3). The fixing can be direct, or via a shock absorber (12, 13). If there is no cross member, the bumpers are fitted on right angled pads (5, 6), in turn fitted to the rear of the chassis side frames. The shock absorbers can be springs, or elastomer blocks. One edge (11) of the bumper is curved over the rear chassis edge.
