Abstract

A weighing or dosing feed system for powered or granular goods uses a pneumatically and/or vibration driven feed tube with a flap-valve. It ensures rapid but reliable outlet sealing when the desired wt. is reached without subsequent trickling. The valve cover consists of a sealing plate (2) which is forced perpendicularly against the feed outlet (1) in the closed condition by a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder (3) moving the plate linearly. Alternately, a linear electromagnetic plane drive system may be used. A slightly elastic seal (4) is compressed for between the plate and opening in the closed condition. This may consist of a labyrinth seal. A bellows seal (10) between the feed pipe cover plate (9) and the piston (3) prevents escape of dust in the open condition.
