Abstract

Wheels sets with bearings at the ends fit in jaws, which contain adaptors transmitting the load and allowing a limited amount of uncoordinated movement in the horizontal plane. A steering arm is fitted to each wheel set (A, B) and the arms (-A', B') and adaptors are coupled so as to hold them in a constant relative position. The arms hinge together between the wheel sets, thus allowing the latter to slew in the horizontal plane. Springs acting between the jaw ends and the adaptors limit the amount of slewing movement.
