Abstract

The fastener is quickly attachable. It is elastic and reduces the frequency and amplitude of the vibration of the rail during the passage of a train. The rail (3) is bedded on an elastic grooved pad (2) on the sleeper (1). Runners (4) are fastened along each side of the rail. The runners have grooves on their top sides to take circular section horseshoe shaped stirrups which press onto the rail flange (13) and are driven to the stop (10) which locks into a neck (14) in the stirrup.
