Abstract

The mixing tap (10) comprises a valve insert (2), a rotationally operable valve (20) to adjust the mixing ratio, and, above this, a separate valve (30) to adjust the flow. The valve (30) contains an axially slidable port-controlling disc (33) between two fixed discs (31, 32). The disc (33) is axially movable by a radially extending lever (40) pivoted (39, 41) in the wall of the insert and having an arm (42) pivotably (43) engaging a member (37) connected to the disc. The discs (31-33) may be lapped ceramic discs. The insert together with the valves (20, 30) may be a self-contained replaceable unit.
