Abstract

The turnspit is for a kitchen cooker and can be operated at a continuous slow speed or at an alternately rapid and slow speed. The mechanism has at least one drive shaft which rotates in alternate directions. The fixed shaft (6) froms part of the support frame (4) of a reduction-gear for the turnspit (3). Hinged to the shaft (6) is a lever (5) one shorter end of which has a gear (5c) engaging with the pinion (8) of a shaft (7) pivoting at constant reciprocating speed in the frame (4). The other longer end of the lever (5) has a double circular rack each part (5a, 5b) of which alternately engages with each geared section (2a, 2b) of the staged drive pinion (2) of the turnspit (3).
