Abstract

The animal ear tag made of plastics material can be cut from a U-shaped extruded section. One arm (3b) of the ear tag has an arrow shaped part (1) projecting towards the other arm at its tip. The other arm (3c) has a U-shaped pocket (2) projecting outwards from its tip. The two arms are interconnected by a thin rounded bridging part (3a) forming a hinge. The open mouth of the pocket faces the barbed tip (4) of the arrow shaped part, so that the tip is locked inside the pocket when the two tips are pressed together. The open mouth (12) includes two opposed shoulders (14a, b) which lock behind the shoulders (7, 8) of the barbed tip.
