Abstract
L'invention concerne une fibre optique du type qui comprend une gaine et une âme. Les verres de la gaine et de l'âme sont à base de quartz, et le verre d'âme contient GeO2 et au moins une matière de dopage choisie dans le groupe qui comprend P2 O5 , B 2 O3 , TiO2 , Al2 O3 , SiF4 et Ga2 O 3 , la quantité de GeO2 étant inférieure à 15 % en poids et la quantité totale de GeO2 et des autres matières de dopage étant d'environ 15 % en poids ou plus. Application à la fabrication de fibres optiques pour communications.
