Abstract

The cartridge (12) has an electric percussion cap (13) fired by an electrical discharge caused by two contacts touching given points on the percussion gap. The discharge is produced by discharging a capacitor (8) suddenly across the percussion cap. The capacitor is charged via a rectifier (5) from the secondary winding of a transformer (4). The transformer's primary is connected to a dc/ac converter (2, 3) supplied from a battery (1). The capacitor is connected in series with thet two contacts touching the percussion cap by a thyristor (6). The weapon's mechanical trigger (or trigerrs) is used to generate an electrical triggering pulse which is applied to the thyristor's gate and turns it on. This discharges the capacitor and fires the percussion cap.
