Abstract

The diaphragm type actuating cylinder is used especially as brake cylinder. The piston rod is connected to the diaphragm type piston by a contacting plate. Diaphragm is pushed into its initial position by a restoring spring around the piston rod. A conventional switch for warning systems can be used in conjunction with this actuator. The switch is readily fitted and replaced without opening the actuating cylinder. Within the working cylinder is fitted an actuating ring which is loaded by a spring and held in contact with the internal wall projection of the cylinder. In case of an excessively long stroke of the diaphragm piston it is connected by a thrust plate and carried along for actuating an electrical switch of the warning arrangement. The actuating ring is contacted by the thrust plate in the region of its internal diameter. The switch has a projecting actuating pin.
