Abstract

A compression spring is inserted over the air-ducting pipe unit, in the pipe lead coupling for rigidly coupled centre buffer couplings on railway rolling-stock, where there is a pipe lead carrier in the coupling head. The pipe unit (1) consists of two parts, one comprising the front pipe end with centering organs (4, 5) and the other the rear end with stops (10) and pipe joint (9). The opening (8) in the pipe carrier (3) is narrower than the centering organs' max. dia. and that of the stops. The two parts are joined by one or more weld seams (15, 14), sited outside a pipe section stressed by the compression spring (2) when built in. Construction and installation are simplified.
