Abstract
The leading coupling for a rail vehicle centre buffer coupling head with fixed claws, has the head at the front end of an axially movable pipe with intersecting steering lever hinged to the end. A pressure medium activated device (18, 21), incorporating a piston plunger, similar to the pipe and mounted beside it is structurally linked to it and with the same feed. This increases the sealing pressure effect of the coupling sealing ring. The plunger (22) is supported only on a lever (25) hinged to the centre buffer coupling head housing (1). This ensures a correct course at the onset of coupling, and generates sufficient pressure for reliable sealing.
