Abstract

La présente invention concerne les patins de freins à disque à étrier flottant. L'ensemble de patin comprend une plaque support rigide 18 sur laquelle est fixée une garniture de friction 20. Les bords avant 28 et arrière 29 de la garniture 20 sont biseautés de façon à s'écarter du plan de la face de contact dans les directions à la fois circonférentielle et radiale. Cette disposition permet de faire varier l'aire de la surface de friction de la garniture en cas d'usure inégale de celle-ci et de déplacer temporairement le centre de masse de cette surface de friction C', C'' pour le ramener vers le centre d'application de pression P du piston d'actionnement. Application aux freins à disque de véhicules automobiles.
