Abstract

A drop separator for use in air conditioning systems, natural gas purification and in aerosol traps for emissions of the chemical industry and power stations, includes a number of parallel plates. The plates are curved to at >=1 complete undulation to deposit the droplets on the walls by impact action. The surface of the main part of each plate is smooth but at each end there are several vertical grooves in a straight section. The liquid droplets are collected in these grooves and are carried away through a tube with a U-seal. The low-cost separator which functions effectively and needs little maintenance.
