Abstract
The synchronous electric generator, particularly an inductor alternator has a stationary generator shaft (7) of ferromagnetic material which forms part of the electromagnetic circuit. The rotor bush (10), pulley (12) and fan (11) are of non-magnetic material. The arrangement results in improved electromagnetic utilisation factor and reduced weight and size as compared with conventional generators. The generator can be used as a power source for vehicles, esp. automobiles and tractors.
