Abstract

The cooking point has a gas burner which is covered by a heat-resistant heating plate (11) and is connected to a mixing pipe (1) which carries primary combustion air and the gas. An inlet opening (8) for secondary combustion air is arranged underneath the gas burner. To the side of the gas burner, one or more outlet openings (8') for exhaust gases are provided. The cross-sections of the inlet opening (8) and of the outlet opening (8') are matched to one another in terms of their dimensions in order to achieve a damming effect on the outflowing exhaust gas in such a way that the cross-section of the outlet opening (8') is smaller than the cross-section of the inlet opening (8). As a result, a very uniform and slowed flow of exhaust gas is obtained which can output more heat to the heating plate (11).
