Abstract

Solar energy collector comprises a tubular screen contg. a soln., 'liq. (M)', (RTM), and anti-gel, a property of which is to facilitate the absorption of heat during the passage of solar radiation into the device. It allows heat to be accumulated and to be restored during the absence of radiation. The 'soln. (M)' can be coloured and acts as coloured glass with decorative effect, the colour giving a supplementary gain of 2%. The tubes which compose the screen are transparent and are assembled by a metal or wood frame with fixings, which can be used on a door or a window, cloches or greenhouses. Arrangement is an improvement to the collector described in the parent patent. It allows collection over large surfaces of glazing which nevertheless remain cold in spite of solar radiation passing through them. It does not interfere with the passage of light. The temp. can reach 50 degrees in winter. Distribution of the heat collected is effected by emanation from the collector screen. It is removable and can be put away during summer.
