Abstract

La présente invention concerne la réduction des matières polluantes se trouvant dans des gaz en particulier dans des déchets gazeux. On met en oeuvre une oxydation catalytique de ces particules constituant la fumée qui sont entraînées dans le courant gazeux contenant de l'oxygène lequel passe au travers d'une unité de catalyseur où un catalyseur est disposé au hasard pour gêner le passage en ligne droite de ces particules de sorte que, premièrement la probabilité de contact entre les particules et la matière catalytique est augmentée et, deuxièmement, une turbulence est communiquée au courant gazeux pour augmenter la probabilité de contact entre les particules et le catalyseur. L'invention est par exemple utilisable pour réduire la pollution des gaz d'échappement sortant des moteurs à combustion.
