Abstract

The equipment which allows rapid or urgent release of a motor vehicle safety belt comprises an anchor link (1) for fixing to the vehicle, and a detachable link (4) to which the belt is attached. The links have coupling portions engaging together and thrust by an elastic component into the engaged position. A further component releases the detachable link, engaging in a mating recess in the anchor link, and thrust free by a tappet (7) in the anchor link.
