Abstract

L'invention concerne la production de mercaptans par réaction d'un hydrocarbure à insaturation éthylénique avec l'hydrogène sulfuré, utilisé en excès molaire, sous l'effet catalytique des rayons ultraviolets, le mercaptan désiré étant recueilli dans le mélange réactionnel. La réaction est perfectionnée par sa conduite en présence d'une quantité efficace d'activateur choisi dans la classe des acétophénones. On obtient ainsi de bien plus grandes vitesses de réaction. Les mercaptans obtenus par le procédé de l'invention ont de très nombreuses applications industrielles, par exemple dans le domaine des adhésifs, des agents chimiques pour l'agriculture, des agents de terminaison et de transfert de chaînes de polymères et des additifs de réticulation.
