Abstract

Un procedimiento mejorado para preparar un mercaptano, en el que se hace reaccionar un compuesto hidrocarbonado con insaturación etilénica, con sulfuro de hidrógeno que se encuentra presenta en exceso molar, en presencia de radiación ultravioleta, y se recupera dicho mercaptano de la mezcla de reacción resultante, en el que la mejora comprende llevar a cabo dicha reacción en presencia de una cantidad eficaz de un activador de reacción derivado de acetofenona, de la fórmula estructural: **(Fórmula)** en donde R1 es un grupo alcohilo de 1 a 10 átomos de carbono; R2 es un grupo fenilo o un grupo alcoxi -OR en donde R es un grupo alcohilo de 1 a 10 átomos de carbono; R3 se selecciona entre el grupo que consta de hidrógeno, alcohilo de 1 a 8 átomos de carbono, arilo de 6 a 14 átomos de carbono o cicloalcohilo de cinco a ocho átomos de carbono en el anillo; R'' es un grupo alcohilo de 1 a 4 átomos de carbono, cloro o bromo, y n es un número entero comprendido entre cero y tres.
