Abstract

Insoles incorporate a core made of material having a high damping capacity enclosed between a sole face of constant thickness and an inner cover of highly flexible material. The core may be made in one or more pieces, shaped to provide foot support and opt. perforated to permit ventilation. Pref. the core and sole are co-moulded from rubber compsns. contg. different amts. of blowing agent so that the core is firmer than the sole. Pref. the cover is of an elastic fabric or sheet material, opt. also of expanded rubber. The insolves have good wear resistance and are shaped to allow the main sole of the shoe to be of relatively uniform thickness and hence uniform flexibility.
