Abstract

The ventilated footwear has a composite cellular sole with air circulating from the exterior of the shoe uppers to the interior of the sole, and from the interior of the sole to the inside of the shoe. The sole is in two layers with air circulation passages on the interface. The top sole is of tri-laminar construction with this canvas and hard rubber veneers sandwiching a thick layer of multi-cellular sponge rubber. The hard rubber layer forms the lower face, makes contact with the durable rubber lower sole, and it has proud plane toe and heel zones with intermediary projections. The projections comprise circular studs in the central zone and parallel inclined ribs in the edge zones. Vertical holes lead air into the shoe and a continuous circulatory passage is provided on the perimeter.
