Abstract

A shoe insole is prefabricated using two different materials so that the harder (I) of the two materials forms the lower part of the sole and is partly covered on the upper face by a softer material (II). The thickness of the lower layer varies, being thinnest beneath the main metatarsal joints and heel. Provides a smooth transition between sole zones of differing apparent hardness. Pref. the Shore hardness ranges for (I) and (II) are 35-45 and 25-35 respectively. The component layers may be stuck together, pref. are directly superimposed by injectiong moulding.
