Abstract

The sleeve for electrical or telephone cable junctions, the cable junctions being splices, etc. The sleeve is usable over a range of cable diameters and formed, preferably from a thermosetting plastic. The sleeve (1) is split longitudinally into two matching halves held together by wing plates and bolts. Each end (6) is tapered, the cable (2a) being held firstly by a cut flexible ring (9) of almost completely separate segments. The amount of ring required is adjusted by cutting out a number of segments. A collar (21) secures the flexible ring in position against the annular sawtooth inner surface (17) of the two tapered end sections.
