Abstract

L'invention se rapporte à l'industrie verrière. Elle concerne un verre ayant un indice de réfraction compris dans la gamme de 1,675 à 1,720, une densité comprise dans la gamme de 3,1 à 3,4, un nombre d'Abbe compris dans la gamme de 33 à 36,5 et une très bonne résistance chimique comme attestée par une perte de poids en bain acide inférieure à 0,010 mg/cm**2 comme mesurée au test AO, caractérisé en ce qu'il présente à sa température de liquidus une viscosité d'au moins 220 poises environ, et la composition suivant en poids : SiO2 40-46; Al2 O3 : 0-3; avec SiO2 + Al 2 O3 : 40-46 ; TiO2 : 13-17; ZrO2 : 4-11; MgO : 0-2; CaO : 3-7; BaO : 8-16; SrO : 0-4; avec CaO + MgO : 4-8; avec CaO + BaO + SrO : 15-25 ; Nb2 O5 : 2-10; Li2 O : 0-3; Na2 O : 2-7; K2 O : 3-8; avec Li2 O + Na2 O + K2 O : 5-12. Utilisation notamment en lunetterie.
