Abstract

The barrier separates two compartments of a high voltage switchgear unit. The gear has a fixed insulated screen (71) and a movable screen having a unit (4) moulded into a block of insulating material (5). In each compartment, (11, 12) are high voltage connections (33, 34). The unit is a double break rotating switch in which there is a current transformer (41). The switch has a contact arrangement at each of two ends. Part (76) of the barrier between the two compartments is formed on the switch block, the other part (71, 72) of the barrier is attached to the side walls of the switchgear enclosure.
