Abstract

The liq. and gas components of a biphasic flow, of high gas/liq. volumetric ratio, are conveyed in the same pipe by removing free gas from the fluid, and then forming a fluid of limited free gas content, lower than a preselected value, by (a) increasing the pressure of the fluid of reduced free gas content, (b) simultaneously increasing the residual gas to the same pressure and/or (c) producing a new fluid of reduced gree gas content by admixing the fluid of reduced free gas content with the residual gas. The appts. comprises a separator, a pump to increase fluid pressure, a pump to increase gas pressure, and a mixer for fluid and gas, operating under constant pressure. The process is used for e.g. petroleum effluent from oil fields. The greatest part of the effluent is recovered.
