Abstract

The sowing machine is designed for simultaneous sowing and placing in position a strip of plastics mulch. A main chassis has an unrolling mechanism and discs opening furrows in the soil, together with a set of wheels burying the mulch in the parallel furrows formed. Below the sowing mechanism (5) is a perforator wheel (6) with spikes evenly spaced round the periphery and having hinging portions opened at the bottom part of the wheel. A ring is mounted alongside and parallel to the wheel, there being a number of cranks fixed to the spikes and turning in the ring and the wheel, so as to keep the spikes upright.
