Abstract

The fastener uses interfitting assymetric 'U' sections (2, 8) to secure the edge of a cladding sheet (5), being designed to avoid tearing the sheet. A fixed 'U' section member (1, 2, 3) may house an insert member (6, 7, 8), of similar profile, the sheet passing between the two members and being wedged between the assymetric flanges (3, 6, 1, 7). The proportions of the members are such that the webs (2, 8) do not make contact, thus, leaving the sheet free over this length (9). A moulded bead (4) may be mounted on the free end of the short top flange (3) of the fixed member, the insert having rounded angles (10, 11).
