Abstract

The safety release is fitted to a reversible plough to prevent damage when striking an obstacle. It comprises a support (11) pivoting (12) between side plates (2), its upper end holding a pivoting arm (13). This latter has a spring (16) holding a roller (15) against a flat (25) on the end of a hook (18). The hook also pivots, its heel (21) contacting a spring (28) holding the flat against the roller. Obstacle pressure pivots the blade rearwards, the resultant pressure between roller and face increasing. The hook plate rides down to trip the roller arm and release the plough blade.
