Abstract

The equipment heat-seals caps previously glued to the lips of vessels of rigid material, having a sealing head with electrical heating resistance. The lower part of the head (2), coming into contact with the cap (5), has a distorting metal mattress (3), formed by a stack of flexible wires. Wire diameter can be between 0.1 and 0.3 mm., and the mattress can be strongly compressed at the centre, typically by a fixing screw (4), so as not to come into contact with the cap. At the periphery it can be secured by a ring (7) fixed to the head.
