Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation de tabac reconstitué. Ce procédé comprend les étapes suivantes : a. extraction du tabac naturel avec de l'eau pour produire un extrait de tabac et un résidu fibreux; b. transformation du résidu fibreux en une trame ressemblant à du papier; c. mise en contact de l'extrait de tabac avec des micro-organismes capables de réduire le nitrate dans l'extrait en azote afin d'éliminer le nitrate de l'extrait, et d. recombinaison de l'extrait dénitré avec la trame de tabac fibreuse. Le procédé permet d'obtenir un tabac reconstitué à teneur réduite en nitrates.
